Kevin Eaton
Visionary
Meet Kevin Eaton
Kevin Eaton is a second-generation foodservice guy who grew up in the industry before most people knew what a manufacturer’s rep even was. He got his start in 1996 alongside his father, Bob Eaton, riding shotgun on sales calls and soaking up everything the business had to offer. Turns out, the lessons stuck — and then some.
When he’s not dreaming up the next big idea (fair warning: that never really stops), Kevin can be found on the golf course, out on the water, or standing over a smoker perfecting whatever cut of meat he’s decided needs hours of love and patience. He’s a proud husband to Kay and devoted dad to two daughters — the real decision-makers of the Eaton household. He’s also a part owner of Crooked Thumb Brewing, which conveniently gives him a professional reason to have strong opinions about craft beer.
Kevin leads with his heart, believes every great business is built on relationships first, and genuinely means it when he says the best part of the job is the people. If you’ve ever spent five minutes with him, you already know that’s not just something he says for the website.
Fun Facts:
- Go-to drink: Bourbon. Always bourbon.
- Bucket list item: A golf trip through Ireland — the courses, the scenery, and presumably a few pints along the way.
- Die-hard Tampa Bay sports fan. All of them. No exceptions.
- Part owner of Crooked Thumb Brewing — yes, he does consider this a legitimate business meeting venue.
- Happiest when he’s on the water, on the course, or feeding a crowd off the smoker.
Kevin serves as the Visionary and owner of Eaton Essentials — and if you know what a Visionary does, you know he’s the one asking “but what if we did this?” while the rest of the team figures out how to make it actually happen.
The idea for Eaton Essentials had been simmering for years. Eaton Marketing had built a reputation as Florida’s premier equipment rep group, but the smallwares and tabletop world kept calling. When the right partners walked through the door, the timing was finally right, and Eaton Essentials was born. Kevin’s role has been to bring the vision, the relationships, and the culture that made Eaton Marketing successful and transplant all of it into a company built from scratch.
Nearly 30 years in the foodservice industry has given Kevin something no classroom can teach — a deep network of manufacturer relationships, a sixth sense for where the market is heading, and an unshakeable belief that how you treat people is the only real competitive advantage. At Eaton Essentials, that philosophy is baked into everything.
Kevin’s proudest professional moment? Building a company from scratch alongside people he genuinely loves working with — and watching Eaton Essentials outperform expectations right out of the gate. He’ll be the first to tell you the success belongs to the team. But the team will tell you Kevin’s vision is what made it possible. The best is still to come.
